Unknown Blossom

This is a 'rescue' tree. It's very small but is covered in very small (about 1.5 cm across) white flowers. A neighbour was clearing a plot of land of fruit trees. We have 4 which we're pretty sure are apple trees but this one is a mystery. Last year it did produce fruit but they were like a berry of some kind. I'll try and get a close-up shot of the fruit this year and maybe one of you will be able to identify it.

Beautiful. Husband thinks this is a wild cherry. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prunus_avium

Beautiful , and it may well be a variety of a flowering cherry !

It’s pretty. I’ve seen this blossom on our regular woodland walk. It’s out around this time each year. Unfortunately, as we can’t go there just now, will miss it.

@gijsje Yes I think your hubby is right. That would explain the little “berries”. Thank you both of you 😁
