I almost wept, so very nearly caught it. I've left it sooc with disappointment:-(

That is beautiful. Just beautiful. Caught the butterfly coming into land on the Valerian wonderfully. Fav

Totally lovely capture, the butterfly s flutter around so quickly, so think you have done very well to capture all the detail , on both flower and this fella. is lovely in action shot

Well, I think the sense of motion is great (as you get the butterfly "entering stage left", as it were). And, I've learnt what Valerian looks like, courtesy of Phil @phil_sandford

@lovingandsharing Thank you kay, very kind of you to say

Well it wasn't what you were aiming for, but it still works as a composition and the upright stance is something quite special. I think you will look back on this and feel that it isn't such a disappointment after all.

@peadar Ha, that made me laugh, maybe I should rename it Bombing of the Valerian

@helenhall Thank you very much Helen, yours and everyone else's encouragement has made be begin to realise that it doesn't always have to be "centre stage" to tell a story. Next to study up more on composition!

Beautiful image!

I know exactly how you feel, Suzanne...I've done this same thing so many times. Excellent job with your focus on this butterfly in flight, that's difficult to accomplish. I totally agree with Peter...with this capture you get a definite sense of the butterfly approaching the Valerian, which is also beautifully in focus. Fav for me! :-)

Great timing - I think it coming in to land makes the photo.

There he comes! What a wonderfully timed pic!

Good for you! Still a good shot, even though you'd have liked the butterfly nearer the flower!
Thanks for the follow, returning the compliment. I see you are also in sunny Lincolnshire!
