I must admit I avoid using this local post box but I hope they never replace it.

This one gave me a laugh. Lacking a certain amount of TLC. One imagines insides coated with rust somehow. Wouldn't be my first choice box either. Great title.

Yes, it does look a bit ropey. It's probably been let go a bit because nobody uses it!!!

It certainly has character. I wonder what secrets it could tell about all the letters slipped into its mouth over the years if it could talk. Secret love letters. A ransom note. Blackmail. Goods news and bad. I guess the list could be endless 😉😉

@paul10 Now that has got me thinking, I would imagine its seen plenty of all your suggestions, possibly apart from the ransom note, we don't get too many kidnappings around here :-)

Thank you all for stopping by and your comments. The sorry little box is still in use but with only about 5 nearby properties, I doubt it will be getting any TLC in the near future.

@suzanne234 Why not take control? Sand it down and repaint it. You could be arrested for unlawful interference with Her Majesty's property, a quick call to The Daily Mail, a Facebook page, Instagram, all of a sudden you have a national campaign!

OMG I feel sorry for this little post box, have you seen it in use? I think we should do as peter says, a good face lift lol a nice capture showing its age. in your village there are these blue painted bikes spotted about, do you no what that's all about/ interesting shot there...lol

@lovingandsharing Haha, I think its best to leave it in its peeling glory! The painted bikes are for the Tour of Britain, the 3rd stage is due in our area on 5th September
