The last one of the field been harvested from the other day.
While I was flicking through an endless selection of shots, this one caught my eye. It's probably a really bad shot but there was something about it that I like, I think it has a slight ominous feel to it.
I honestly don't know if the focus is shocking or somehow adds something to the shot!
I'm glad someone else has a problem trying to work out whether their shot works, or has completely missed the mark! The out of focus wheat at the front of the scene don't cause much disruption to my eye - probably because the colours are so consistent with the rest of the field. I like the POV which forces the examination of the depth of the field and its contents. I see what you mean about an ominous feel. It is as if, the photo engages us with the blades of wheat which do not have a clue what is coming to get them from behind!
Yes, I think it works. The focus is on the middle of the image - I also like the way the harvester is out of focus, so you are not sure how close it is to you
Suzanne, I really think it works as it is. It is interesting and provokes thought - as Lisa says, it lets you imagine a story. To play Devil's advocate (and remembering all these things are subjective) I would have had the focus point in the foreground on one of the taller pieces of wheat, with the background out of focus as is. Arguably, you might also have lowered the level of the camera a tad, so that there is more wheat and less sky.
hello :) love this shot it does make you fell like watch out look what s coming, if you get what I mean lol is hard for me to say about the focus point as I struggle with these types of shots, don't think there is a wrong or right just what is pleasing on the eye, and sends the message of your capture across, which you have nicely done. Peter message is good, as can see how that would work too. interesting subject with some amazing response. FAV from me.
A very interesting photograph showing both the detail of the grain and portion of the environment in which it grows. Well done and thank you for sharing.
