About 15 miles away from us is RAF Scampton, home of the Red Arrows.
This was them having a bit of a practice this morning. Taken out of my bedroom window.
No change of background on this, the sky was quite blue for a change!
Fantastic, brought back memories. Our first posting when David was in the RAF was at RAF Scampton. Of course, back then it was home to the Vulcan Bombers. We saw the Red Arrows often and they used to come to RAF Valley when we were there to fly the aircraft there if any of their planes were out of action. They used to come to Cyprus too to practice because we used to have good weather there in winter. I have photos of my girls in one of the Red Arrows planes because we used to meet up with the pilots in the Officers Mess and they were very obliging for photo opportunities. fav
@onewing ahh, nice to bring back memories for you! We are lucky here in Lincolnshire to have so many RAF bases and it's always a treat to spot the various aircraft. I'm a little surprised to see them here at the moment as I thought they went to sunnier climes in the winter as you said. They have been quite active this last week or so, and again very obliging with the photo opportunities as they appear to be out when the sun is very low so the smoke gets lit quite nicely!
Even The Queen doesn't get that; she has to step out on to the balcony.
