This weeks theme is dance. My parents were wonderful dancers but I have not inherited any of their sense of rhythm. My dad spent hours trying to teach me how to jive, something I would love to be able to do, but despite his best efforts, the only dance he ever successfully taught me was the Gay Gordons one year at Skegness Butlins.
This is yet another portrait that I spent a ridiculous amount of time on yesterday. I must have lost about half a stone in weight editing this, I wasn't trying to deceive (that comes in week 9) but the background removal wasn't very successful and a little bit of me got shaved off every time I tried to smooth it out. I was going to try again tomorrow but figured I had spent enough time on it.
You can probably tell I have never done ballet in my life, but I'm pretty sure the gay gordons wouldn't photograph well either.
Next week theme is relationships. I shall get my thinking cap on.
Well done - it was a difficult one wasn't it. There are certainly some bits of me that I was very tempted to shave off. The editing looks just fine to me and I'm convinced that you know your ballet moves - and the hair is right which is the main thing ;)
Nice Silhouetting. Don't despair on the editing side (I would be as thin as a rake with your analogy re weight loss), I'm sure we all have been there, what you have done looks great ;-))
A beautiful shot, lighting and silhouette. One thing I had about music was keeping to the beat; otherwise I could not distinguish between one musical note and another.
Nice silhouette, though I'm not a hundred percent sure what the challenge was. You shaved bits off yourself š® I can relate to spending ridiculous amounts of time trying to get my shots right though š
:-) i lose weight every time i process my self portraits. i'd be thinking since i'm removing spots and shines and wrinkles might as well do a general overhaul. at least in photos! great idea for the dance prompt. aces!
A beautiful Fav. pic.
