No it's not a replica of the holy grail...... it's the real thing. The actual genuine Holy Grail..... I picked it up in a Charity shop in St. Austell for £2.50 this morning and the young lady behind the counter confirmed that it was indeed the genuine article.
I asked her what it was doing in a charity shop and she explained that it turned up regularly in the British Heart Foundation shop, because once you have drunk out of it and gained eternal life..... it's pretty much useless to you after that.
So rather than leaving it on a shelf to gather dust, people usually take it back to the charity shop they got it from. I must admit I was a bit sceptical, but I've had a few swigs of Old Rosey cider out of it this afternoon and I'm feel much better than I did when I got up this morning. So only time will tell I suppose. I'll just assume that I am immortal until I discover otherwise.
While I was there I did have a root around at the back of the shop but there wasn't much of interest. Just an ancient wooden box with some broken stone tablets in. I tried reading them but it was all Hebrew to me. There was an old broken spear and a blood stained sheet. She said I could have the lot for a fiver, but I had no use for any of them and declined her offer.
Laughing, hugely, on the idea on the broken stone tablets, the spear and the bloody sheet. It's all Hebrew to the rest of us, for certain... especially, as we are all immortal (until we discover otherwise). So witty... huge fav.
