Watch out..... there's pirates about.

I seem to be feeling very much at home here at 365 Project and it looks like I will definitely be staying.

So probably about time I introduced myself properly. I am Captain William Harlan Flynn. (Swillin' Billy to my shipmates). Gentleman pirate and flintlock for hire at your service.

No really....... I am part of an 18th century pirate re-enactment and living history group called "The Pirates of St. Piran". There are about 35 of us who take part in battle re-enactments, canon displays, sword and flintlock displays, dramatic presentations and we also gig regularly as an outrageous, rocky sea shanty band.

We are a non profit making charity fund raising group and in recent years we have raised tens of thousands of pounds for our local children's hospice, The Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust and the Royal National Lifeboat Institute. I have to say that we also have amazing amounts of fun and this bunch of scurvy dogs are the best crewmates anyone could ever wish for.

I am for my sins, (and there have been many) the Captain, musical director and treasurer of the group. which keeps me fairly busy. We have released 4 CDs to date and are about to start filming a music video of one of our songs to promote our latest CD. I will put a link on here when the video is released.

So, fair winds and calm seas to you all and I look forward to sharing this grand photographic adventure with you all.

An them's as dies 'll be the lucky ones.
You forgot drinking copious quantities of rum (other alcoholic drinks are available)

What a brilliant hobby, and for such a great cause too. Have a tot as a reward!

@judithwhite It's one of those rare things in life where everybody wins. We love performing and playing pirates, the public loves watching us and we raise lots of money for good causes. I doesn't get much better than that. :)

@sgtpepper we would to...... but the costs and logistics of getting 35 pirates up your way make it almost impossible. But never say never. :)
January 25th, 2015
@yaorenliu Yes we do have a lot of fun. :)

@swillinbillyflynn Nothing's impossible, improbable maybe, but who knows...
