This splendid tall ship is called The Phoenix and her home port is here in Charlestown in Cornwall.
Us Pirates of St. Piran know her well as we often perform gigs and battle re-enactments on her at various pirated themed events. In fact we are filming on board her at the weekend for our forthcoming music video. (I'll post a link to it when it's finished). We are really looking forward to it.
To all my Blip friends who have joined 365 project over the last few days. Welcome, it is great to see you here. I have missed you all....... and today is my 100th post on 365 Project. (my 1225th if you count the 3 years or so I spent on Blipfoto) Sadly they don't do Blipdays here on 365 and there are no balloons. But I thought I would celebrate it anyway. I will be having a rum or two later.
To all my friends on 365 Project..... you may be a bit confused by all this talk of Blippers and blips going on at the moment. In short. There is another daily photographic website called Blipfoto which has now sadly gone into liquidation. No one is sure what it's future will be. I spent 3 years on there and made many good friends and now following the recent events, hundreds of them are migrating to 365 project. So please do give them all a huge warm welcome, they are a really great bunch of people and many of them are very talented photographers, who I am sure will fit in beautifully on 365 Project. :)
@goodmorningcanary She is indeed. She has featured in lots of films and TV programs over the years including the Hornblower series. If you are watching the ne Poldak series, keep you eyes peeled as she will be turning up there at regular intervals. :)
I think it has to be "was" now when talking about Blipfoto as it is no more, it has gone, passed over, kicked the bucket, we lost it, in short it is as deceased as the Norwegian Blue Parrot.
What a magnificent ship. I often wonder what life would have been like actually living and working on one of these wonders. I don't think I would have lasted very long, I got motion sickness on a pleasure boat on the Thames.
Thank you for the follow, I am also an old Blipper wafting in the breeze. I have but one question however... why's the rum gone?
Stunning shot! It is like going back in time to see these old vessels!
Congratulations on the 100th photo! Perhaps it will start a trend :)
Cheers later when you have your tot of Rum!
@sadlerstar There is no reason why we can't suggest changes to 365 Central and see what they think. I don't think the birthday balloons would be too difficult and would make the site more appealing. :)
Beautiful photo. You asked where I live. I live in Pretoria, the capital of South Africa. We are very privileged to have a lot of game reserves relatively close by, so we've got a lot of opportunities for wildlife photography.
Nice to see so many blippers on here , good to get a breath of fresh air with a new site as blip was getting very frustrating , a bit miffed at buying a lifetime membership but onwards and upwards 😀
@circuitburger It's odd that some do and some just don't. Fortunately I don't have a problem, which is just as well as I love spending time on boats like these. :)
@anna45 I understand that it was compulsory liquidation. That would be bad news as there is no hope of a rescue if that is the case. The company will just be wound up. So sad for the devoted blip community.

It has been suggested the 365 Project might want to snap it up for a song and migrate all the blippers here. :)
Sounds like a good idea, but everyone is migrating here anyway, even some that I would not have expected to see.
Welcome aboard the lifeboat.

Oh dear, oh dear.
I'm heartbroken, but with hope.
I see Blip's in liquidation......

Happy 100, too!
Thanks for the welcome to Blippers - hope the influx doesn't sink the ship! :-/
