I have to admit that what surprised me the most in this photo is how expressive its face is (definitely more visible large on black)! Who knew? Photo was taken on the side of our house where it patiently posed for a bit before heading off. It actually gave me time to switch from my nifty-fifty to my macro which meant running inside, upstairs, changing lenses, running back out, and then snapping.
GREAT day today. But it means I will need to catch up on visits and comments over the next few days or so. Between surprise birthday celebrations that came off like a charm (in other posting for today: http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-06-14) and organizing the vote for EOTB10, I'm barely getting to post before midnight.
Thank you wonderful 365ers for all your support and comments. I love them and appreciate you. And don't forget to vote for EOTB10 -- there are some terrific images worth seeing in their original page.
Your focus really shows off the wing structure with is amazing. His face does look like something from another world - interesting. Fingers crossed for EOTB10!
What a great macro shot, so interesting to see those features up close. Who would have thought photography helps to keep you fit, I seem to find myself scampering inside to quick switch lenses.
@darylo Thanks for visiting several of my photos today and commenting -- I always appreciate your remarks! Sometimes I feel like whichever lens I've put on my camera, it's the WRONG one!!
@pflaume I actually thought it might have died and just be hanging there, but it was so funny to see him waving one of his legs at me, first one, then another, while I took the shot.
@danielwsc Only if this is a quick question...I've looked into focus stacking in Aperture and it doesn't support it. I've found plug-ins, but none of them indicate that focus stacking is a key component. Is my only choice a program like LightRoom or CS4?
Lightroom doesn't support it, nor does Photoshop Elements. I am investigating some freeware, but struggling. So it's CS4 I'm afraid. I'm only teasing because you are on an island have time to investigate. I think it would be a major time suck, so only go down that rabbit hole if you get bored.
@danielwsc I'm always looking for things and unfortunately the most recent thing I ended up doing was...I found a D600 (full frame) Nikon camera body that was barely used (someone bought it but found out they'd rather have a point and shoot!). It's supposed to come tomorrow. Too much time on my hands researching toys instead of researching literacy!
