Taken behind the swing, after dinner. Our friends have arrived--Round 1 of company we will have from now til we return to Chicago. We were watching the sunset after a dinner of grilled salmon, roasted vegetables, sweet corn, and salad. The clouds were amazing and I was sure the sunset would be. Then the clouds seem to grow a life of their own, drowning out the sun, until it just had this little tiny slit to shine through. So, negative space won out over glorious clouds.
I will catch up on comments over the week. With company, I won't be able to spend as much time on the site and I stayed up until 1:30 last night taking photos of the moon over the lake -- none all that exciting, but I'll post the best of the bunch in my extras album. I was practicing for tomorrow night's full moon. Thank you so much for your comments on the flare over the tower yesterday and the silhouetted flowers. I look forward to viewing and commenting until I'm caught up from today.
Btw - have you heard from your get pushed partner at all? Let me know if not and if you want me to find you another partner for this week (although I see your very busy - so maybe you won't :)
That sounds like a glorious evening! I love how you got the sun between two of the swing's slats.... Hope you will be able to post some...even though you have company for a while. I am freaking out..my summer is coming to an end. teachers return to school to do a week of planning and prep...on July 31. Oh wow. That summer went too fast.
Interesting use of "negative space" because it really does feel like the clouds are suffocating the sunset with their weight. I also like the shape of the swing to contrast with the lines of the clouds/sunset. Glad you tagged me!
