Danbo's been excited about snow and getting to experience it himself. After a snowball fight today, he is thinking that the Danbo's living in warm places may be the luckier ones!
Image combined, in camera, two shots: Danbo with some snow on him and a macro of snow from our balcony raising.
Thank you all so much for making my birthday yesterday even more special. Wow -- your kind wishes and your supportive comments on my photos made for a terrific day.
I leave tomorrow morning for 10 days so am not sure of how frequently I will be on 365, compared to 'normal,' so apologize in advance for less frequent comments. I know everyone is going to be really busy, so it may not even be noticeable!
Great Danbo shot!Have a wonderful trip Taffy!I officially request you not bother commenting on my album.Enjoy your time!We will catch up when you get back!
@mzzhope you are the best! I know I won't be able to stop myself looking but time has to be devoted to work, play, and not keyboarding I suspect!! Have a great holiday just in case I really have the willpower not to comment and don't 'see' you til afterwards.
@mzzhope Hope same goes for me! @taffy Enjoy your time off! I am not going to be commenting much (and honestly, I've been awful at it for some time), but the end of year is coming. Gosh, I wish we could have a huge virtual party the 31st.
@darylo Thanks Daryl! And the same to you -- have a great week and I'll see you at some point online again. Knowing me, I'm too obsessive to stay off, but I am going to try to keep time on the site to an hour a day at most. We'll see! I love the idea of a virtual party and had been thinking the same thing -- but all I could think of is a thread of some kind. Not that celebratory! Til next time...
@taffy If you're on Maui and you have a free early morning or late night, you can go up Haleakala which is a little higher than 10K feet in height. Great views and lots of places to pull out and take night shots. I've climbed Haleakala on my road bike and it is amazing (great descent too)!
That's on my plan for Monday! I wanted to go for sunset but the concierge suggested going in the morning instead. I doubt we can get up at 4:00 to make it by sunrise (our lodging is 2 hours away). What do you suggest for photography? Jim's not much for hiking and altitude tends to both him. Knowing that, it looked like we could drive into the park and that there is a moderate walking trail that leads to the craters. Is there a better place for photography?
@taffy All over the island - you'll have more than you can imagine. The upper craters and great and if you go slowly and stop along the route to the top you'll have lots of opportunities. Around 8K feet the plant life stops and it is like the moon with lots of lava. Really interesting plants and life all over the place - but you have to get away from the high tourist beach stuff.
@pflaume Thanks Lisa -- you've made my day! It looks like today's photos will basically be 'pics from a plane' but at least we flew over the grand canyon and other interesting areas in the southwest!
Happy belated birthday for yesterday too. Enjoy your trio.
