From the nonstop Honolulu to Chicago flight - obviously taken from the plane (this was a trip where I was able to really work on airplane photography!), I chose it because it captures, to me, the combination of Oahu: urban sprawl, beautiful mountains often surrounded by clouds, blue skies, deep blue ocean, beaches, iconic craters from the volcanic-formed islands, and also shows where we were staying -- sort of off to the right of Diamondhead, along the beach. My friend's house is in the hills sort of under the wispy cloud closest to the crater. And the city sprawls into the hills/mountains and to the west. Really a contrast to Maui which has hotels only in one area on the western coast and maintains a strong rural feel.
It was such an amazing trip with stunning opportunities for photography. I'll continue to share some images over the next few weeks, though not in my main album. Hoping now to get over our colds, get caught up on all kinds of things, and wind down this year as we gear up for 2014. Time has flown!

Congratulations, Taffy! This is truly amazing . . . the weather cooperated nicely, and you were on the "right side" of the plane to capture this. The light is quite nice, too.
