Spring is here -- we can tell because weather is finally warmer, skies have fluffy clouds, and construction/road repair season is upon us. This is a major entrance to Chicago's downtown area coming in from the west. Or alternatively, just driving by on the way to Wisconsin or Indiana -- and missing all that Chicago has to offer!
Will catch up on commenting tomorrow...must go to sleep instead tonight. Thank you for your positive response to the eerie tree shot from yesterday!
Very cool photo, and perfect caption for it. Where were you -- to be up so high? Much higher than my usual vantage point at this juncture, which is usually in the car.
Incredible! I love the look of this. Paul King used what he called a red filter I think, and loved the way his b&w's looked. This reminds me of that look. It is just stunning and the SC with the green signs is awesome also.
@jyokota thanks Junko! I was on campus by the El station in the open parking lot. Now I must actually turn off electronics and go to sleep! You too! Long day.
Beautiful capture, great contrasts in the black & white and a great composition. The sc on the road signs make your eyes go there first and then wander the rest of the image - fav
My brother told me NEVER to drive in Chicago! We drive in Atlanta, but he said Chicago is so bad! I love this SC pic, Taffy! And that dramatic sky! Wow.
And now because I'm totally brain dead...here's what I posted on my own page for you...
Your challenge sounds totally fun and very suited to the horrid weather we're having because I can probably stay inside out of the freezing. Now for your challenge...drum roll please...I'd like you to concentrate on portraiture...not selfies, so you may need to co-opt a victim...err...subject of course. If this isn't possible please let me know.
@swilde Heehee!! I was able to rope one of my colleagues into posing for a portrait a month or so ago and he told me I could photograph his family any time. Soooo, I may see if he wants to volunteer his family!
Great SC...very dramatic clouds! ...really grat processing getting the clouds like that...what is your secret? And did you perhaps use a polarizer filter?
