This was taken in the Old Town of Vaison La Romain (the area that I posted on the hillside above the river and the Roman bridge). The Old Town is about 4 layers high with cobblestone paths and stairs leading every which way. This is a pretty typical scene.
Thanks as always for your comments -- and yes, luggage arrived on our doorstep sometime after midnight so everything is back where it should be (or at least waiting to be put away).
This is great Taffy. So many textures; shades of light and dark and a hint of unexplored areas just beyond. It's the kind of area I love to wander. Fav
This is just beautiful.... layered colors, gorgeous composition, wonderful "Old World" feel. Really like the repeating stairs - one on the right, one through the arch. Looks like a great trip.
An instant fav for this beautiful shot . I love the wonderful colour tones , textures and the use of the natural light to create such a llovely composition ! !
Super shot - love the composition and feel. We also love the architecture and look of these medieval hillside Southern French villages. You always wonder what goes on behind all those closed shutters.
How I now wish I could see those ancient European cities again...
This scene is so difficult to photograph: How wide to zoom out? How high or low to raise the camera? what should be included and what can be cut off? ...a real nightmare! But you have managed extremely well. I just love this scene!!
Saw this on the Trending Page and knew right away it was yours — it has that "Taffy Look" to it; Beautiful!! I imagine you've collected thousands of equally fantastic photos while on your excursion. Fav!
