I thought I had my shot(s) for today from my time in the hayfield. But tonight, the sunset was so golden that I thought I'd just fool around with a crystal beer mug I'd bought for Jim during a trip to Prague several years ago. Turns out, it's quite a cooperative subject and doesn't flit about like dragonflies or bees!

Your shot made me smile as it unfolded in from of me - first the wonderful sunset then gradually this goblet revealed itself! Really lovely light to show its beauty! Now what could it hold? Coffee, tea, brandy, and of course, as you say, beer!
The mug is positioned to catch the golden reflection streaming from the sun! The repetition of the starbursts on the mug mimic the sun flare which is such a bonus!
I saw this shot on the home page and knew it was yours right away. I love it, Taffy. What a beautiful mug and love how you used it in this sunset photo. The golden color throughout is totally awesome. Interesting that you put all the clarity on the mug. It truly makes your photo. FAV
It unfolded so wonderfully as I scrolled down. When I reached the horizontal line I thought it might be a balcony but then the wonderful beer mug was revealed. The golden glow on it from the captured light is fabulous. Fav
@joemuli It's real. Have you tried stopping your aperture to it's smallest point? That's how I am able to create sunbursts. And only with my prime lenses, I've noticed.
