Junko @jyokota and I went into town tonight to shoot the supermoon rising above the harbor. We instead looked for other interesting things to shoot as the cloud-filled sky pretty much eliminated any moon at all, much less a super one (at least we practiced yesterday so maybe will post those). On our way back from town, driving by Barney's Lake, we stopped because the reflections were amazing. When we got back home, we all watched a movie and I played with saturation a bit (or a bit too much, depending on your perspective). For the other end of the continuum, a b&w in my extras album: http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2014-08-10
Thanks for your comments on my encounter with the golden grasshopper. Is was as much fun reading them as it was taking the photo and writing the commentary!
To see more of this particular sunset, here are links to Junko's postings: http://365project.org/jyokota/challenges-and/2014-08-10 http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2014-08-10
From all your favs (well deserved) you have your answer. I am not a night person so I have trouble getting out to take these pictures. Easier in the winter when the night beats me home from work. I am charged with a night picture for my get-pushed. Love to bring the colors you have to it. Will have to see.
@radiogirl It was one of those very lucky things as I think unless we'd gotten the moon coming up over the harbor, the other shots we were able to find were probably more interesting. Thanks for your visit, comment, and fav!
Taffy, this is just beautiful. One could hope the day would just pause right at this moment for a while longer. Your picture holds onto that moment forever.
Both your and Junko's shots of this lake are fabulous!! Such wonderful reflections at that magical twilight hour.... we will definitely be seeing this one on TT this week! :-))) I would certainly go and pour a libation to the lake gods for providing you with this incredible opportunity (and, of course, to your mad photography skills!)...
Congratulations, Taffy!!! TWO on TT again! I loved our photo walks and photo processing talks last week and wish we could do it more. I learn so much from you every time!
I went through your all your PP last night. I love the diversity your shots have. You are very creative!
