I've had almost no time for photographs so returned to my Death Valley photos that I've been working on off and on. Thanks to much help from several 365 and beyond colleagues, this has gone from a flat, dark image to its current version that reflects my growing use of LR5 tools. I used the selective adjustment tool to bring out the light and shadows in the foreground. This shot was taken facing the opposite direction, and a little earlier, from the one I posted earlier - http://365project.org/taffy/365/2015-02-13 - which was taken just after the sun had risen and begun to light up the mountains that are behind me in this shot.
Gorgeous... love the light flare coming over the mountain and the colors gradations in the flats. That LR... what a great tool to bring out the true nature of the image that you captured. Really great processing.
I really like how the processing has brought out the unique details of this landscape without sacrificing the way our eyes might naturally see it. Beautiful!
You've really done a wonderful job with the processing - retaining the landscape but bringing out its beauty that the eye might glide over. The sun flare is a nice addition to the scene.
This is an amazing combination of so much detail in the foreground (well worth looking at with all those formations) and a great silhouettes. Well, the beautiful sun-rays are just an added bonus on top! Makes one go and visit there.
