Oh, what a cool effect! You lined this up perfectly, by the way (side to side... excellent curves). The fisheye does make it wonky... like Alice falling down the rabbit hole. Very nice.
A wonderful B&W image Taffy!! That fish eye lens has had some great use!! Are you getting one of your own? I was thinking about getting one myself but not sure if I would get much use out of it - not much architectural stuff around here. Not sure what other uses it would be good for.
@pamknowler Thanks Pam. There's definitely an advantage to having one of these and architecture is ideal. But it's been fun to play around with trees too -- and it can be smaller architectural units as well as large ones as it distorts in interesting ways (even an elevator, or a house-staircase, or an entryway to a shop). BUT, that said, to me it's like Lensbaby -- fun for some uses but not a long-term, high-use lens. When I need to return the one I'm borrowing, I'm pretty sure I'll buy one, but the one I'm looking at is under $300.00. Can't remember the name off-hand, but it begins with an R.
Wow, this came out great. I love the use of the fisheye and this photo in B&W. Not bad for this lens in price. I want a longer zoom and have been looking for a lens for my camera. So expensive. Saving. FAV
The fisheye has created a great look to this staircase............I keep saying I am going to get one, one day, when there is nothing else to 'need' camera wise
**Ab-so-lutely Stunning**!! What a beautiful image in every way, and less like "a photo" than an artist's rendering. I could almost imagine this in an old Godey's Ladies Magazine of the late 1800's... (which is perhaps the time period of this beautiful theater!)
Congrats on the double TT once again Taffy!! So pleased to see your fabulous shots there. I have to say there are a couple of shots on TT this week that I have to question how? Well done you though for continuing with your very high standard!!
A really great shot.
Photos can have such a powerful impact.
