Atrium II by taffy

Atrium II

This is a vertical view of the Macy's (Marshall Field's) store on State Street in Chicago. The architecture of this building is quite impressive. Converted to b&w using Silver Efex.
Will be behind in commenting for awhile. The night photography camera setting challenge ends this weekend so if you were thinking of participating, today's the day!
Splendid shot, symmetry, lines, perspective

Fabulous perspective and symmetry. The b&w really makes this shot fantastic. It has a bit of an Escher feel to it too.

Wonderful processing, a super capture. Fav!! 😃
March 29th, 2015
Love the processing - easy Fav. Would be interested to know what filter you used on this... although it's clear that the Nik conversion was only a starting point.

@vignouse Thanks Richard! I always appreciate your feedback/thoughts. I probably used full contrast/structure or one of the high structure smooth ones or something like that on this one to start with, then brightened it a bit, but honestly, I don't know for sure anymore. I keep thinking I should write down what I do so I can repeat it, but I never take the time.
March 29th, 2015
@taffy I particularly liked this because of the high structure processing which suits the linear form of the image perfectly. You can save your processing as a filter if you happen on something you like, but only that part of it done in Nik of course.

@vignouse I tend to work between LR5 and Nik plug-ins so that's what makes it hard to recreate. It's been frustrating when I've inadvertently worked on a smart preview version (small) instead of the real one -- not a mistake I'm going to make again!
March 29th, 2015
Impressive is the word. The shot bring out that feeling.
March 30th, 2015
Have you done some more work on the perspective since posting on Flickr, Taffy? It looks different (better) to me - or perhaps I was tired when I looked at the first version... :-)
March 30th, 2015
@ericdibosco Just a tad...I think it's as good as I can get it. I stood as centered as possible but I must have been just a bit off as I can't get all to line up perfectly.
March 30th, 2015
Impressive architecture and it looks wonderful in B&W. Would love to wander around there with my camera and a credit card with a high limit!
