We've been driving this route for 15 years and even since joining 365, I've been trying for a shot of this bridge every time we drive back from the island. For yesterday's trip, I thought I'd put the telephoto on, and see what I could do from the car. Not exactly what I wanted, but better than any other I've managed to take. Since this week's mad hatters theme is about geometry, I thought I'd work on it (Silver Efex and LR) to bring out the curves, lines, and angles. And the title makes a six word story. So a twofer.
@maggiemae
Not exactly -- it rises quite high above the houses and roads below (the border of Indiana and Illinois) and curves around and as it goes down, it takes you into the major highway (the Dan Ryan) into Chicago.
@eyesmile Thanks Gena...but not the cell phone. Those attempts have been massive fails! This was with my Nikon and telephoto, where I had it up to my eye and clicking as soon as I could see the bridge in the distance. So basically, 1 of about 20 shots was worth working with!
Love how the clouds highlight the bridge............nice shot from a moving car Taffy!
Thanks for commenting on my first w/a photo...........I really love how it shaped the clouds and how you can get really close to objects, neat perspective. I'm really excited about using it during my holidays!
I really like this. Amazingly sharp and well-composed for a moving car. I have that processing software - need to learn to use it. You are such an inspiration!
So many wonderful linear repetitions and patterns. And the processing definitely enhances it all. Great capture in a challenging circumstance - from a moving car. Kudos to you!
I think you did well, considering that it was taken from the car. You have a good leading line and just enough of an angle to the bridge to see it's detail. Interesting processing.
I know this bridge. Now that I've been to other parts of the world, it no longer seems to be on top of the world, but when I was a kid, I was quite sure we were traveling up into the clouds. The name might have helped.
