Thanks for all the interesting comments on my graffiti shot posted yesterday. I enjoyed reading all your different views on the 'why' of graffiti as well as your personal preference -- enjoying it as art to hating it for marring properties. Made for interesting reading/thinking.
This is from bracketing three shots, when Jim cooperatively stopped the car in the middle of the tracks for me to take the shot safely (he watched for trains while I took the shot). Processed using Photomatix, then turned to b&w in Silver Efex, then used Color Efex to create the bi-tonal look. All while watching our Blackhawks lose tonight in the Stanley Cup playoffs. Feeling bleak in the city at the moment so the image was designed to capture that.
Visited our house construction site today... http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2015-06-06
This is just fantastic - such interesting and awesome processing (sorry that your team lost - I'm spending the evening watching Jurassic Park for the 30th something time..)
Oh, this is very cool. Sorry about the Blackhawks... again! :( Really wonderful lines and structures, enhanced by your intricate and effective processing.
@fntngrma Thanks Rosan. I knew NOTHING about processing when I started 365, literally nothing. And mostly used auto even in my DSLR. And I'm not a techie person. So if I could learn this stuff (over 2 and 1/2 years), anyone can!
@joansmor Oh, I think I overstated the loss. It was just game 2, so hope is not lost. They're just tied 1-1 in games with up to 5 more to go. We just wanted a sweep! Thanks for the visit.
@taffy Can you tell I don't follow - only pay attention to it at all if the Bruins are playing. Right now I want the guy with the adorable little girl to win basketball so I can see her more. Am I bad.
@joansmor I admit much of my attention is through osmosis. For example, Jim has had morning sports radio on for over an hour. I've more information on analyzing what happened in last night's game than I would have ever sought myself (they were tired from the series with the Ducks, of course the opponents (newish team compared to Hawks) got their act together by game two as they were playing at home, etc. Now I'm learning about the Giants as a 'dangerous team' who can do something to the Cubs' progress. Never know what to do with all this information!
@northy Duh...I have used the split tone and it would have made this processing a whole lot simpler! I just didn't think about it...oh well. Good reminder!
