After the early morning pack up, the 5 1/2 hour drive to Charlevoix, the 2 1/4 hour ferry, the unpacking, and a dinner that consisted of cheese, crackers, fish sausage, regular sausage, and wine because we were both too tired to cook, and looking outside at a beautiful sunset and deciding it was to hard to walk outside to take a photo...it's clearly time for early-to-sleep. Hoping for almost 3 weeks of time to chill on Beaver Island before the big move home after 8 months of reconstruction.
Thanks for your wonderful response to my bicycle shot! I appreciate it! Have taken those so many times but it's never really been 'right' so I appreciated your kind comments on this image.
Scene above is taken from the Beaver Island Ferry, just under the raised bridge as we head out the canal to cross 33 miles of Lake Michigan. It was a beautiful day.
What a beautiful day it looks for your trip on the ferry! A long tiring journey for you both but now you can have a good rest. Hope you enjoy yourselves on the island - I know I will enjoy sharing it with you through your photos! Hope the mozzies have gone! Take care!
Taffy, I don't know how you do it! The constant turmoil that your life has been the last eight months and you still have time to take great photos. Have a great time on the island.
What a fabulous sky! I'm looking forward to seeing your photos of your time on Beaver Island. I will feel the stress slipping away, like it was my holiday too.
Oh this is so beautiful - the dark led-like tones in everything, very much my kind of sky and water. And - as always with Michgian's lighthouses - it made me homesick.
It looks like a beautiful day indeed. Here's wishing you 3 wonderful weeks of relaxation while you're on the island. Looking forward to the pictures you'll take while there (and really hoping that I'm finally back to being able to view and comment on them).
@busylady Ah...I like how you described the idea of the 'stress slipping away.' I already can feel the difference in 24 hours -- and almost 10 hours of sleep certainly helped! Even working on a report most of the day was okay, with the water lapping outside, and storms moving in and out!
Looking forward to Beaver island too. I haven't been around much lately, have not been commenting. I actually miss everyone, 365 does feel like home.
Love the peace and serenity of this pic Taffy.
It should all be worth it!! Enjoy a relaxing time at your favorite island, and hope to see lots of photos from a place I have never visited but have become fond of through your eyes!
