Kokopelli plays many roles in Native American culture, and one is as a trickster. Insomnia meant I was able to take some photos last night. Packers and movers need me to (a) stay out of their way but (b) be easily available, so I had an excuse to hang out with my computer in a back corner. All our goods are now in storage somewhere. Progress continues on the house - we have plumbing! electricity! it's clean! But the list of what we don't yet have is still daunting and the unit below is a major construction zone still. So, we're making the right choice to head out and come back next month.
Thanks for all your well-wishes on both progress and your sage advice that the water damage was much better to have happened before we moved in area rugs, furniture, etc. They re-did the foundation of the patio doors and the large window today. Floor re-refinishing is on Monday. All will be well.
Magnificent bokeh! Kokopelli has summoned forth a wonderful collection. So sorry it is going to be another month. :( At least you get to retreat to a lovely island.
Just love all the bokeh and a great silhouette! So sorry that this happened and caused such damage! At least it was before you had moved everything back in which would have been worse. Just go back to Beaver Island and chill out and enjoy yourselves until they have fully completed the job - properly this time! Fav for such a fab image!
Wonderful. I can get bokeh by accident but not on purpose and more with things in background rather then lights. So I have to love this one. I have to hope that P3 and companions are safe at Beaver Island after some accidents that happened when moving before.

@jgpittenger Yes in the end, I figure this counts as being lucky! Adding to the list of 'oh no' events...it appears that the newly cleaned and readied refrigerator now installed in our almost-habitable kitchen isn't ours! They've mixed us up with our neighbor...we don't know if our exists...and of course we didn't order one. I am trying to decide whether to laugh or scream! I'm sitting in Skybridge that is now almost empty...except of course for our refrigerator that we must empty somewhere...
So of course, I am reading everything backwards! Sorry to hear there's been a glitch- but you've got the right attitude. It all happens for a reason and perhaps this one was to uncover potential problems before everything has been moved back in. Good shot!!
Seriously?! More problems?! It never ends, does it?! I am now burning candles, considering a Feng Shui space clearing, and also might have to involve the Greek Orthodox priest according to my mom!! Absolutely agree that it was better that this problem became evident before you moved in, and before the winter storms, as it would have been extremely inconvenient to have to move out of the house at that time!
I missed this - my excuse is that you posted it on our 25th Wedding Anniversary, also Bastille Day and my brother and his wife were staying! Excuses over... this is simply inspired and wonderfully composed and processed - I wish I could give you a hat full of Favs!
Came by here to find your update about the house! WHO could have imagined what a daunting task that was to become! Well, having peeled away layers on houses in two locations, I realize it's never what you anticipate it will be! You always seem in good spirits, so bless your heart! I see Sheralee mentioned this was on the TT...and little wonder! Amazing the delightful things that occur in the middle of the night!
@Weezilou So thoughtful of you! Thanks for the kind words. After a busy yesterday, today no one has shown up -- incredible. But furniture is coming in and being put together so it's looking more and more like a home and not a construction zone. I do think the end is in sight, but it's clear that if the operations manager and/or project manager isn't right on site, the crew does not respond as they should. It must drive management nuts -- as well as us.
