Thank you for your wonderful response to the shot of Chicago at dusk. It was a beautiful evening and I was glad to be able to share it.
Back on Beaver Island, but still working through photos from my city walk before we left Chicago. The building that is dwarfed in the background is the Sears (aka Willis) Tower, seen from the east through the financial district. Of course, the Sears Tower actually towers over all the buildings.
@jyokota@rosiekerr You two must have been posting simultaneously! That's what a good photowalk does! Many thanks! I'm sure the crowds walking by me thought I was nuts as I was moving about to get into the right part of the shadow to make the flare. Turned a boring errand into a fun photo trip.
Now that's what I call a sun flare! Fantastic! I really like your viewpoint and perspective. Also shot at the right time of the day - certainly speaks of experience and knowledge of your city!
I can't believe they are now calling the Sears tower the Willis building....that's sacrilege! Wonderful sun flare, and a FAV!! Great to have a stash of architectural photos to work on while at the island.
Great iris star.
