This is one of the many photos I took this afternoon of this spider who had made a huge web spanning the wrought iron steps leading down from our back deck. It made it impossible to pass without destroying it, so instead of taking out the cardboard recycling, I left it on the deck and got my camera out instead.
This low-key version is going to be much better on black.
Heading to Colorado to visit family and taking my camera with ONLY the 50 lens for Richard's challenge for sooc, 50mm this month. It means traveling more lightly, but hoping it isn't a mistake not to have a wide angle with me.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments about my foggy photo the horrid drive home. The photo was on PP today! It was the one good thing that came out of that awful drive home.
Have a good weekend all!

A quick look at the bigger version and I'm already backing away, not good with spiders. Having said that, an excellent shot and the delicate web gives a great context.
I would say lovely but I can't Taffy. There should be a 'still Hitchock' award. That would win! I compliment you on it's awfulness. Shivers before bedtime. I hope I don't dream.
This is magnificent on black....love the low key capture, and all the subtle detail!! Absolute FAV!! Have fun in Colorado....I admire you for your restraint in taking ONLY one lens with you....she says as she rubs her neck and shoulders that are hurting from the weight of carrying three camera bags and lenses down sandy beaches to the pier!! I am sure you will come back with some spectacular SOOC photos!!
Wonderful macro Taffy - the lighting is great!! The subject gives me the shivers but I am very impressed with the clarity. I always seem to get the web swaying and find it hard to focus. Could be my hands shaking!!
Sorry I am late to this I have been poorly for the last couple of days and couldn't see the screen through watery eyes!! Fav!!
