Had lunch at a restaurant on the Chicago River to celebrate a friend's birthday, then walked the river walk from there to Lake Michigan. It's so beautifully designed from seating to restaurants to landscaping. A huge positive addition to the city's attractions.

Wonderful Image Taffy!! What a lovely place to walk and see the sights!! I can't wait to do the walk with you next May!! So much to see!!
Sarah @pixiemac fancy joining me in Chicago first week in May next year?
Very cool. I'm so impressed with what Chicago is doing to make the city "user friendly". The darker color in the brick work, that must be a walkway, right? Looks like the trees have been growing there awhile already.

Exactly -- the darker bricks have no stairs, but simply a gradual incline. This all opened up sometime this summer while I was on Beaver Island, so they must have planted fairly large trees to begin with. I think they'll be amazing when they fill out a bit more.
This is absolutely fabulous!! Surprised it did not get more FAVs.....I would give it more if I could!!! Really, really wonderful capture of that scene, wonderful lighting, composition, and setting! And, I see the corncob building is still there!! ;-)))
