I don't do much street photography, but NYC cries out for paying attention to people as well as structures and sunsets. I've chosen some photos from the trip to work on this week and this is the first. Taken from one platform looking across a fairly empty platform as a train came roaring through. Best viewed on black.
Sad night for Chicago...Cubs are now down 3 to 0 against the Mets so unless miracles happen, they won't be in the playoffs much longer. But they got further this year than in a really long time! The Cubs mantra continues..."Wait til next year..."
I like this photo very much, to me you've captured the essence of this place and its purpose. Works so well on black. Strange you should mention the Cubs, the game was on the big TV in the clubhouse when we were having lunch after golf. Fav.
Our national football team is much like that - we always expect a win but it never comes. We always end up with better luck next time. Your shot is wonderful especially since you had to deal with the moving train, too. Fav.
Beautiful in black and white, and so very interesting! I heard on the news that Cub fans are hoping the prediction in "Back to the Future" (today is the big day) will come true . . .
Very cool shot, Taffy. That lone individual is perfectly placed in the window and the blur of the passing train adds such interesting motion. Super in B&W.
@golftragic Amazing the game would play in Australia! Tonight's probably the last game for them -- almost over and they are trailing by 5. @loweygrace It was good for awhile, wasn't it?
Wonderful view to the "other side" of the platform with that lone person leaning against that column and the train passing by! Perfect moment to capture! Love NYC subways.....FAV!
Cubs just scored 1 in the 4th inning! We're hopeful!!
