Had a nice quiet day today including seeing The Martian this afternoon, then stopping to photograph during the golden hour. These tracks have fascinated me -- all the criss-crossing and sets of signals.
Thanks for your kind comments on the ICM attempt and the gritty bridge!
What a great shot, Taffy. All of those leading lines. It is quite a coincidence that I took a similar shot of a train yard myself today. Check it out when you get a chance. Fav for your shot.
Great lines and point of view . It seems like you were standing directly on the lines to take this picture - I am never that brave, even if I know that the track is abandoned, I will hesitate to stand on the lines :)
@jamibann Thanks for the comment and view! Yes, I loved the movie -- worth seeing on large screen. It's tense throughout, great acting, wonderful scenery. We saw it in 3-D which was fun. Very satisfying movie-going experience which is saying something as it's so much easier to watch at home! But this one was worth the large screen.
Wonderful photo! Railway lines are always so fascinating, particularly where they come together like this. Also like how the red lights show up at the top of the frame as it looks like the tracks disappear into a tunnel.
Great shot. It must be a busy station with all those lines. Love the golden light on the pipework and the red lights down the line... They make the lines seem to go a long way... Which they probably do!
