Symmetry by taffy

Symmetry

When much feels out of control, there's something about structure and order that attracts me. From the County Building grand hallway, looking up.
Thanks for the kind words re me email disaster. Have you any idea how tedious it is to go through (literally) over 15K messages that suddenly migrated into my account from the past 3 years of deleted ones? All mixed in with current ones?? AGH! Have gone through over 9000 by now. Think what could have been done with that time. So late on posting...no comments...many apologies. It will get fixed.
Love this b&w, Taffy. Well seen and beautifully photographed. Great symmetry.

That sounds like a complete nightmare! I like the shapes and symmetry here.

Great take on symmetry. Really like the curving lines of the archways. Technology is fantastic, when all is going along smoothly. When things get out of control, it makes us crazy! I recently got a new cell phone and iPad-just trying to make the switch to back them up has been a royal pain. I still can't get my email on the new iPad and my desktop computer is refusing to send mail to my husband's account? I'm frustrated so I sympathize with your email situation. Good luck on that.

So sorry to hear about the email debacle :(
Beautiful b&w with gorgeous symmetry :)

superb shot and processing, like this a lot
November 14th, 2015
Wonderful lines.
November 14th, 2015
Love all the curvy shapes and designs.
Technology is great when it's working, but can be very stressful when not I sympathize with you. I just went through a issue with my iPhone that cost me a lot of money and a few stressful weeks, all good now!
Taffy I hope everything works out soon.

Lovely symmetry and architecture.

Couldn't yo sort by date and then just block delete before a certain date? Sounds dreadful. Curves are always so good to see in buildings!
November 14th, 2015
Great picture, I like the symmetry, also the details are so clear!
November 14th, 2015
Great lines, symmetry and b&w processing

Great symmetry, lines, perspective...your shots are always stellar

the symmetry is wonderful - I also like your edit.. and the grain on the shot

Wonderful symmetry :)

I love symmetry, everything seems to be in order
November 14th, 2015
Beautiful lines and curves Taffy

Fabulous arches, no colour required. Beautiful in B&W.
November 14th, 2015
Beautiful symmetry and sense of order.
November 14th, 2015
Great use of symmetry! Love the curvatures!

@redy4et Egad - another nightmare! I've gotten rid of 13K messages -- hoping not to many critical ones went out with the old ones. @maggiemae As Maggiemae advised, I ended up just deleting the oldest ones in hopes that there weren't too many new ones mixed in. The problem was, the dates were coming in as current with time stamps from yesterday, so I couldn't sort that way. But in the end, I figured (and hoped) that most were not needed and were duplicates. UGH. Good luck to you, Elizabeth, in getting things sorted out!

Like a flower, so graceful and even better in b&w.
November 14th, 2015
As often, Taffy, I'm serious impressed with your choice of cropping.
November 14th, 2015
Gorgeous arches and design!! Beautiful shot!
November 14th, 2015
Beautiful as always! And sorry to hear about your email nightmare!
November 14th, 2015
Fabulous, symmetry doesn't come better than this. Perfect. fav.
November 14th, 2015
Fantastic, symmetrical photo!
November 14th, 2015
Have fun sifting through the chaff. Now I get this a little because I get excited when I reconcile an account.
November 14th, 2015
@joansmor What felt the best was looking and thinking "only a little over a thousand, great!" When normally I'd look at this, "what the...1000 messages?" So all in perspective. Really, almost an entire work day of time spent on deleting messages, some of which were clearly spam. So probably good to have gotten rid of them. I just hope they don't come back!

Enlarge and see this on the black screen, great shot! Fav
November 15th, 2015
Fantastic shot, love the symmetry.
November 15th, 2015
Love the shape and textures and your composition. Good eye and a great shot. Wow, is sure sounds like you have a real dilemma going on with your email. I hope it will all get straightened out.

Symmetry definitely brings a sense of peace and, as you said, control - both of which are in short supply these days - both in little things ( your absolutely unreal e-mail disaster) and big things like the tragedies in Paris. Like the arching lines and contrasting dark and lighter tones.
November 15th, 2015
I love the lines, patterns, textures, light, and shadow in your image; and black and white highlights those elements so well. It has a bit of an organic feel to it...especially when viewed on the black background...kind of like a palm tree!
November 15th, 2015
fabulous composition and details
November 15th, 2015
Superb
November 15th, 2015
@janetb Thanks Janet...I thought of a palm tree as I looked through the lens, so am happy you noticed that!
November 15th, 2015
Love the symmetry and all the curves. Makes a nice abstract
November 15th, 2015
Wonderful symmetry and detail. So sorry to hear about your email problem!
November 15th, 2015
Love your photo, Taffy. Crazy about your email problem. I am so cautious but things still happen. Technology can easily be a problem. Then get away from computers and try to deal with the newer tv's like we bought and Tivo and go literally crazy. My eyes are crossed from all this and my head is pure fog at times. I thank goodness for my son and his patience and help. I hope that you have put a total end to your problem. FAV
November 15th, 2015
Oh Taffy, so sorry to hear of your feral email. Such a tedious job to sift through that lot, and such a waste of time and effort. Sometimes I think that pen and paper were so much simpler - but only sometimes. Like this shot very much, you're right about the symmetry and solidity of structure soothing the savage soul.

Kim
I love the textures that come out when viewed on black! Well done!
November 15th, 2015
Really love this.
November 15th, 2015
Yes! ...fav
November 15th, 2015
Fab choice for a symmetric shot. The b&w serves well to emphasise those lovely, arching curves.
November 15th, 2015
Fantastic shot Taffy, good luck with your email debacle!
November 15th, 2015
How horrendous to have the dates all screwed up. It would be bad enough without that. Hooray for symmetry
November 15th, 2015
Fantastic shot
November 15th, 2015
There's something very comforting in thinking of how solid a building is and how lofty a ceiling can be. Helps our spirits to be lifted while still standing solidly on the ground!
November 16th, 2015
beautiful symmetry
November 16th, 2015
@olivetreeann What a nice way to put it, Ann. Beautiful comment! Thank you.
November 16th, 2015
Wonderful pic!
November 17th, 2015
I'm with you! I hate none productive time, so many things that could have been done. Gorgeous textures in this.
November 17th, 2015
Fantastic picture. Congratulations on making the Trending Page. Well deserved.
