Jim and I drove Bill and Junko to the airport at 6:00 a.m. for their early morning flight to Chicago (very sad!). On the way back we decided to find a place for b'fast and thought a hotel would be most likely to be open. Our first stop was the one by the Estuary (which wasn't open yet) but it gave me a chance to show Jim where we had been going in each morning. And just as we got to the entrance, the sun peaked up over the clouds, presenting this amazing scene. So, one more sunrise from this holiday morning. Hope everyone had an enjoyable day.
I see we arose at the same time this morning, and I'm looking forward to seeing if I got the hoped-for image I shot of the moon. The rosy glow was appearing as we drove up the mesa, but at 6:20 Ken said we were already late and the boys were waiting... Turned out Ashley was suffering a terrible earache (still) and the boys were quietly playing in their room and not raring to go! Sometimes it all comes together and sometimes I'm forced to behave like a proper grandmother! I'm delighted that you got this truly gorgeous sunrise as that indecent hour should provide compensation! That was a pretty terrific gift, and all the nicer that you could share it with Jim!
Stunning Taffy!! I was waiting for the sunrise this morning but cloud came over and spoilt it. The sky then went very strange and misty and I took some shots - not sure yet if they came out. Fav for this!!
Remember when we got out of the car and I said "we could set up right here." And we went on to the beach instead. And this is what I imagined in my mind -- but not nearly as spectacularly as you captured it! How in the world did you get that duck to make that water ripple circle, and how did you get such gorgeous clouds??? This is beautiful, Taffy! So glad you went back and got it.
@jyokota I do remember -- and the light on the 25th was perfect for this particular spot because the cloud cover was across the lower part of the horizon and the sun hadn't really come up. We were leaving when we happened to walk over to the entrance so I could show Jim where we'd been. ALL luck!!
@jyokota I think he was but he kept saying I'd tricked him into going on a photo shoot and planned the whole thing. And I didn't even have my tripod! It's all thanks to yours and Bill's flight time, really!!
Wish you had been here (but if you had, I'd have probably slept in and missed it!). Good luck with 'the return' and come back if you can!
