This iconic fountain has been in Chicago for almost 100 years and is one of the largest fountains in the world. It opened for the season on Saturday so Andie @ukandie1 and I checked it out today. As you can see, the day was a clear and sunny as Chicago can be. Behind me is Lake Michigan which was a rich turquoise. A wonderful day to be in the city!
Thank you for your positive comments on my half-and-half shot yesterday. Pam and Casablanca guessed correctly -- it was a window turned on its side, with the picture made up of the drapery half and the leaded glass half.
So sorry to have missed this beautiful sight! What a great fountain and it looks wonderful against that fabulous backdrop! The weather has improved I see! Lol! Fav!
What fabulous blue skies.......checks piggy bank for loose change to fund air ticket to Chicago.......sigh, not enough today! What a great fountain, nice history too.
@jgpittenger Thanks for your insights -- as always. I think I'll give one of the convention images a 'seeing to' in b&w. Will post it eventually...probably on Flickr.
