We are back in the US after a very satisfying trip, looking at mounds of laundry and reorganizing for summer moves and some work stuff for me over the next 10 days. We had a layover at Heathrow, so a friend we hadn't seen in decades picked us up for dinner at a pub in Windsor. It was great to catch up and he and Jim even were nice enough to willingly walk to the restaurant along the Thames so I could take some photos. Unfortunately, none really warranted posting (not really a photo walk when with 2 non-photographers and one saying 'hurry up') so on the flight, I had a 'seeing to' of the swan that had interesting lighting.
Off to laundry and other forms of not-much-fun, after-vacation activity.
Wow... this is very special. I love the light on the that beautiful swan and the textured background is a great choice. (I don't think I've ever seen a white swan in person)
Wish you could have been in the UK for longer so that we could meet up! Glad you are home safe even though you now have all the washing to do! Lovely light on the swan! Great processing! Fav!
Gorgeous shot, I love the editing, the swan looks so elegant. Know what you mean about after vacation laundry. That is the downside of travel isn't it.
Jolly good seeing-to IMHO. Being used to swans being black, seeing white swans is always a trifle odd, pace Karl Popper. Don't envy you the post-holiday catchups, especially with jet-lag.
Could be! An unmarked mute swan on the Thames is regarded as belonging to the Queen by default. Really like the processing on this, it looks like a misty morning in early Summer. Welcome home! All the best with the laundry etc!
This is beautiful editing Taffy. Shame I couldn't have come down to London when you were here. I know what you mean about photo walks with non-photographers. I am always being told to hurry up by @shepherdman!
This does look like something out of swan lake. Quite magical. Hope you get through the post-vacation chores quickly. I so sympathise with the frustration of being with non-photographers when you want to take your time and find your frames. I'm only really happy when out on my own. however, I wouldn't want to have missed seeing this shot. It is absolutely delightful.
Meant to add glad you made it back safely. I am on the train heading for some night photography with the Out of Chicago group, hopefully i will have something reasonable to post.

Weather here in Chicago has been perfect, but I've been trapped inside with my fingers attached to the keyboard.
Thanks for mention but what means TT?

Just lovely. Congrats!!!
And a shame I didn't know you were in London. I was working just a few miles from Windsor that week....!
Next time :)
