The Tomatoes Are Planted! by taffy

The Tomatoes Are Planted!

Instead of a photowalk today, my photobuddy, Vickey, spent the afternoon helping me with gardening. She taught me how to divide day lilies, figure out which is top and which is root on bulbs, and with someone to talk with, even weeding was fun! Progress! Still much more to do, but I feel more prepared for it.
I'm glad you enjoyed the humor in yesterday's posting. It was nice today to wake up to a house with power and a functioning car!
Tomato plants never looked so good!

Nice silhouette. You have just reminded me that I need to divide my day lillies, among many other garden chores that I am way behind on.

I do my own gardening, mostly. And always wake up with a stiff back. But it is such a beautiful pastime, isn't it? Beautiful capture and silhouette. I can distinguish the tomato leaves.

Lovely home grown tomatoes!! You will get so many when they all ripen at the same time!! You will have to be creative in your cooking to use them all up!! Louise cooked Fried green tomatoes for me yesterday (we had to use red ones as its the wrong time of year for green) delicious!! Fav for this gorgeous image!!

Wahoo! Good for you and for vickey inspiring the gardener in you

@terryliv Haha! The deck has shrunk for sure! I ended up planting 3 per container for the 9 that we left and the lined up three of the smaller containers along the stairs down to the beach. That left about 6, so 3 on one edge of the deck and 3 clustered around the stairs. What makes it a bit claustrophobic is instead of a clear view, we now look through those support racks instead. These are going to be the most expensive and disruptive tomatoes we've ever had -- so here's hoping they taste amazing (and the plants don't die before producing anything!).
