On our photowalk last night (with @rosiekerr and her husband), we happened on this most unusual sight. To get a sense of the size of this critter, notice the three people just behind its back knee joint. Talk about being out of place!
Quoting from Chicago Tribune article: It's a 12-foot-tall, 20-foot-long painted fiberglass sculpture titled "Deer," which was created in 2015 by Tony Tasset, the artist who brought the giant eyeball to the Loop's Pritzker Park in 2010. "Deer" was recently on display at an art fair in Miami Beach, Fla., before being installed on the Riverwalk between Franklin and Lake streets Monday night, according to the city.
Taking a break from unpacking boxes. The end is in sight but there are still two more car loads in storage and probably at least the same at Bill & Junko's. Running out of closet and drawer and shelf space!
At that size certainly very eye-catching. A lovely night-shot of the cityscape too. Nice to hear the unpacking is nearly done. You must be very happy about that!
Wow he is huge! What a strange sight in the big city! Beautiful image and lovely tones! Good to see you out and about relaxing! You need to be strong and say if you haven’t had/ used something for a couple of years do you really need it? I had to do that when Barb moved in with me! I think I need to do it again though as I seem to accumulate “things”! Fav!
I wish ours were fiberglass that way they'd stop eating my flowers. Glad there's an end in sight with the unpacking. Just think, when it's done, it's DONE!
Saw this on our boat tour. Our guide was saying that he took a tour out one morning and it wasn't there. When he returned in the afternoon it was and he had to rub his eyes to make sure he wasn't seeing things.
