Taken at the Art Institute of Chicago, who is currently hosting a Rodin exhibit that brings together classic sculptures (e.g., The Thinker) and related paintings - the one pictured is a portrait of Rodin in his studio. I went with some visiting friends, one of whom is a professor in philosophy of art. I thought he looked the part!
Thanks for your kind comments on the fellow strolling through the city!
How did I miss this one yesterday - A lovely painting and a great composition , Love the stance of the Proff and the diagonal line created within the shot , and the negative space making you tarry a while and view the painting once more ! fav
He certainly looks the part. Unusual for paintings to be displayed on a dark wall like this. I really like it. The colours in the whole scene work so well - as does the composition. I wonder if he knew you were taking the shot.
@helenhall You're right, Helen...not likely to find a black wall in a museum! In fact, this one was gray, and looked beautiful in person, but when I saw it on my screen, I thought the gray was 'meh' and just used the contrast slider to darken it to black.
Awesome on black!
