A fortunate opportunity in Chicago (if you like plays/musicals) is that we have become one of the sites for pre-Broadway runs for major musicals. Pretty Woman is here and getting positive to mixed reviews. I suspect it will end up on Broadway -- great cast, songs that fit the storyline, and a reasonable attempt to update to today's world with stronger, more empowered female storylines. But in keeping with the original story. A perfect date-night play! But we'd actually seen it last week and were walking by to see Ibsen's Enemy of the People, also set in today's world, and much more disturbing!
Such a contrast - Pretty Woman ti Ibsen!! I studied Hedda Gabler and A Doll’s House at uni. Also disturbing! Faulous glamour shot of the show lights, makes me want to go in.
