Undoubtedly, as you say, there is a certain amount of good fortune involved with a shot. But after that, it is all about what one does with the opportunity that fortune presents to them. And you have certainly done the most with this opportunity. I like this photo, perhaps even a little more than yesterdays. Love the rich detail and the interaction between the two. And the naturalistic feeling of the blurred foreground branches. I know how hard it is to get dear in such an interesting shot. Well done. Fav. BTW - I too shoot with a Tamron 150-600 and know what you mean about the walk. I have come to use a Cotton Carrier chest bracket when I am walking with mine. It serves well to take the weight off your neck or out of your hand when you are walking long distances between shots and leave your camera relative easy to access quickly when a good shot presents itself. But I do enjoy the lens very much also.
@carvl That's exactly what I was going for. I was looking through the branches, so in the end, while it was frustrating, I ended up trying to make the most of it.
