Four flew by our window quite suddenly. I spotted them down to the beach quite a ways away but fortunately had a long telephoto on my camera from last night's sunset. This is not exciting in composition, but I was so pleased to capture a clear bird!
Art festival ended with lots of positive response, no sales, but the owner of the art gallery asked to take all my photos and have them in her gallery! So quite pleased at the experience overall -- so fun to hang out with other artists and be labeled as an 'artist' myself, but also SO glad my livelihood does not depend on this!
So cool when you get one so close by in motion! Glad the art fair was ao positive. I think it must be terrifying if such things are a sole source of income!
Great BIF shot- lovely clear face! The fact that no one bought your images just proves to me that people do not value photos these days. Everyone has a phone and they think they can take those shots! I think maybe if the gallery was in Chicago it might be different but probably not. My friend who is a pro photographer no longer tries to sell his work. He makes his money taking people to exotic places to take their photos and includes training and processing in the holiday. Places like Nepal, India, Burma etc. Just know that you fans on 365 appreciate your fabulous work and talent!
He’s a beautiful bird, he appears to be so big! It’s wonderful that your photos are going to the art gallery! Yes, I guess there’s truth to the phrase “starving artist”!
You must be so pleased at the outcome from the art fair, your images deserve to be in a gallery for all to see :)
