After some feedback from Jane (thank you!), I made another attempt, using a different shot, and simplifying the flower part of the image substantially. I spent an absurd amount of time on this composite as it involved:
1. Removing feeder in Photoshop
2. Combining two images in Topaz Textures
3. Reimporting to PS to clean up extraneous junk and add some space at the lower edge so that I could rotate the flower
4. Repeating above process 3X as it wasn't working the first two times
5. Importing back into LR for final tweaks to contrast, black/white
So, this is the last one I've planned for hummingbirds - at least for now. Tonight we're going to friends on the east side of the island to see (I hope) and photograph (I hope!) meteors and maybe the Milky Way. With three non-photographers, I don't know how this will work out. But it should, at minimum, be fun.
This is gorgeous and worth all that work. I haven’t mastered composites so am very impressed! I hope you see the meteor shower. We have rain tonight so no chance of seeing anything! So disappointing after so many weeks of clear skies! Fav for the beautiful hummingbird!
Gosh you did do a lot of work on this one and it was worth it. Wish I had the time to play in PS. I'd have to learn how to do it first. Anyway, you've created a lovely image
I’m curious about your evening (photo) adventures ;)
