We were no more than 10 yards away from this beautiful pair. So exciting to see them in the wild! We are now in the Serengeti (love writing that phrase!!). Visiting hippo pools, seeing a leopard catch a red buck and carry it up a tree (photo of these to come), and finding myself saying 'no need to stop' when passing an elephant, impala, or giraffe. I'm enjoying the viewing as much as the photography now!
Thanks for your wonderful comments and favs, and sharing my (our) safari together.
Spectacular capture -- so crisp, so real, so "natural"! And they weren't running. I notice you re using your big Nikon -- is it because you have the long lens on that one instead of your newer one?
@jyokota Exactly...Z6 is for all the 'trees' and landscapes. 610 is for all the telephotos, so is the one I'm using most. But loving the Z6! Sort of wish I'd brought the adaptor, but it was just one thing too many to pack.
great shot - I watched a short documentary on You Tube once about Cheetahs and Greyhounds. They apparently have an almost identical running gait. So that's something you know now ;)
Fantastic - with the clear patterning on the cheetahs back. It doesn't take long before you don't need to stop for every animal. So glad you are able to enjoy the watching as well as the photographing. Sounds like you are having an amazing safari experience.
@ukandie1 I can't wait to share some photos but promise not to bore you! I'm being ruthless in deleting ones that aren't 'worthy' at some level but still will end up with a thousand, I suspect. Months of processing ahead (and culling)!
Simply wonderful. Superb animals. Stunning shot in every way but so are all the other things - marching ants, dung beetles. The little 5 just as fab as the big 5!!
Fabulous opportunity
We have been away for a few days so I can't comment on all the photos I have missed, but I have checked them out. Will catch up soon
