Junko and I decided to brave the cold and visit museum campus area, in hopes Lake Michigan would have frozen over. While the Lake has a way to go, there was plenty of thick ice along the shoreline.
PS -- thanks for the suggestions for Giraffe's name (see http://365project.org/taffy/365/2019-01-23 ). It is officially Twiga Rafiki (Swahili for Giraffe Friend). It honors Twiga's homeland. Further, Twiga is a Tanzanian brand for banana beer, so good thoughts there too. And with this name, we'll share the same initials (TR). Thanks for all the suggestions, especially related to Swahili vocabulary!
A magnificent capture and stunning window to peep through! That ice looks so real and bitterly cold. Love the name of Twiga Rafiki, he sure will be happy with it too. Fav
Wow this is stunning Taffy! So cold! I love it when you are able to get out and capture these images of the frozen lake and share with us. Unlike anything I would see here! Love the name you have chosen for your new companion!
Oooohhh -- so cool! No wonder you were sitting on the ground to get this image! I couldn't risk it -- but I have a photo of you getting this. Shall I post it?
Such an awesome shot - finding that spot to shoot through and get the skyline I imagine took some doing - and the processing here is fabulous - love the colors.
Yikes, and you've got some big time cold coming. I was there in 79 when Lake Michigan actually froze over from Milwaukee to Michigan and some yahoo rode his snowmobile across the lake. Great perspective.
How does your Z6 satisfies you? I’m thinking of buying it. I’ve rad in your posts that you think it’s better than your broke down Z7. Are you still happy with your new gear?
Wow, is all I have to say. Fabulous cold/freezing photo. We have sunshine and nice days till Friday when it rains again. Grateful for at least that and our 60's during the days. Stay warm and safe.
Great name- great shot. I have not ventured down to the Delaware to see if we have ice floes again. It's just too cold for these arthritic joints this time around!
i noted right away the initials! aces!
Love the TR initials for giraffe, that made me smile :)
Love Twiga's name... and initials! Very clever.
Great composition!
