Two more concerts for Baroque on Beaver today -- an afternoon 'pop up' featuring the brass group, and an evening performance by the Festival Chorus and the string section of the orchestra. After downloading all the photos from the events, I was feeling overwhelmed. The solution? Go with one of our visiting friends down to the beach, with camera and tripod, to photograph the night sky. It was actually a joy -- totally fun, just for me, and no people in the images! Back to Baroque photos tomorrow...
Major lesson learned today...when photographing an event, one must always look to see if the memory card is in the camera. Discovering at the event that it is, in fact, at home in the computer, is a major embarrassment, covered (hopefully) by some (again, hopefully) useful iPhone shots. The best camera is the one with you AND that actually functions.
iPhones come in handy. I went on a photo walk last week and when I got there I realised my battery was flat and I left the spare at home on the charger. Beautiful capture
Wonderful capture. I took pictures of my nephews wedding back in days of film - there was film in the camera but it was connected right and didn't move forward. They are divorced now.
Oh so easy to make that mistake when the pressure is on. Thank goodness for quality cameras on phones nowadays. Sounds like you did exactly what was needed by getting away from it all to do something just for you. And the night sky looks tremendous on Beaver Island.
Starry starry night! Italy has such a light pollution that it’s hard to take a picture of stars. interedting and heart warming that even the best from time to time forget their card in the computer!
Night sky is on my list and Assateague is the perfect place. I have seen some amazing captures there. My camera strap has two little pockets on each side . I have a memory card in one. Been there done that .... Ugh now the little pocket saves me.
Beautiful star shot! I'm embarrassed to admit that I've done the same thing Many times.Especially when traveling. Or I have run out of battery and left the extra one back at the hotel. I actually carry an extra camera card in my wallet now. It does come in handy.
Beautiful!! Since I have to download photos to my laptop via a cable I never have the camera card problem- but I do go crazy about making sure I have the extra battery with me.
