I've been wanting a clear capture of a flying bee for several years so was absolutely thrilled when I saw this on the computer. I took it on the beach, in a neighbor's sandy area where there are tons of milkweed growing. I was there to photograph monarchs, but this is the photo I'm most excited about. Thanks for your response to the snake/fish collage! It really was incredible to watch, and for those who wondered, I did not stay long enough to photograph the fish disappear. I couldn't bring myself to watch, I admit.
Baroque has ended and I've learned so much from the experience, and enjoyed the opportunities that the 'job' provided. I met wonderful people and have some photos I'm looking forward to processing. I also have about 600 photos (about 75/event) that I probably am less excited about personally but know they are ones useful to the musicians and the coordinators. Lesson learned today -- musicians rarely have photographs of themselves playing (it' usually not allowed at concerts) so they tend to only have ones of them bowing at the end. On viola player characterized it as "it's like a chef showing you an empty plate but using it to explain that people liked it." So I did end up taking a lot of individual musicians tonight (and earlier, fortunately) when I could, just in case they ever ask me for one!
That’s the shot I have been trying to get for years and always failed! Jealous! Lol! Fabulous clarity! Well done on completing the Baroque. Sounds great that you have leaned a lot. Now for the time consuming job of post processing!
aaah so glad you finally achieved it - just amazing. love the whirring wings and landing gear down. i know how very tricky it is to get a shot like this!
We all have that bucket lists of shots we want to get or ones we want to improve. Mine for this summer is a hummingbird at the feeder. Wonderful what you caught.
Superb - congrats on getting a shot you have been chasing for ages!
But also, a very accurate comment on musicians. I have almost no shots of me playing or singing. They tend to be taken at the end or before you begin. I don't take mid-performance shots often at all because I fear the shutter click will distract the performer. Catch 22! Glad you got some, they will be delighted, I am sure.
