It's a Garibaldi! by taffy

It's a Garibaldi!

Out in the kayak we saw a small school of these fish. I had my waterproof camera with me and stuck it into the water to try capturing these moving fish (from the moving kayak). Only one photo came out but I was pleased with it. Catching up on days missed now that I'm home. No need to comment.
Here's a link to the fish: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garibaldi_(fish)
Great shot of this lovely fish, thanks for the interesting link. There is always something new to learn here :-)

It's hard to believe that you can put a camera underwater like this! But I suppose those are used for all the underwater scenes in videos and films! Jolly good catch!

It's a good shot given the conditions you were working under. It must have been interesting to watch them from above. Thanks for the link - it was interesting. :)

Good shot...I didn’t get any pics of the California state fish but we did spot fast orange reflections moving about under the sea. I had to look them up! Fav

I had never heard of this little fella, how interesting! When I saw Garibaldi, I instantly thought of the biscuit! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garibaldi_biscuit

Wonderful photo! When I realized "Garibaldi", I remembered we were on Catalina when we last saw them around the dock! You were fortunate to get such a nice picture of one!

Underwater photography is a whole other ball game, but its fun and you did get a fish plus you were in a kayak! Well done.
