Doing a bit more with some of the images I took when visiting a friend staying at the Park Hyatt. Same view as yesterday's post, obviously, just a different set of 5 images and this time continued processing in b&w.
@stimuloog Yes, I do agree -- it almost doesn't seem real. @beryl I think the color has more impact partly because of the contrast of the warm lighting despite the snow left on the rooftops and the water beyond. In b&w, that information is totally lost, but what's gained (and probably not worth the trade-off) is all the texture.
It’s interesting to be able to compare the two images Taffy. I love the b&w one for all the textures it brings out - a more gritty image. I prefer the colour version which has a warmth to it and shows the lovely light on the building.
The colour one had a feel of a detailed hand done drawing - this one is suggestive of a superb modern lithograph. The details are and textures are amazing. :)
I've been flipping back and forth between the two versions and feel very much the same as @robz. I like both versions, but, on balance, prefer the b&w.
