A few weeks ago, this herd of about 40 or more antelope wandered into a field in the midst of a residential area of Colorado Springs. They've yet to figure out a way out. They're very curious animals, not afraid of the dogs we were walking, and came closer to us rather than running off. Quite a radical event to observe compared to walking in Chicago!
Thanks for all your well wishes for the holiday. Smooth travels here and fun to be with family.
That is fascinating! Loved counting the antelope we'd pass while driving through New Mexico to Colorado. But in a residential area - weird! Neat capture of them.
I have never thought about antelope roaming around in Colorado- but now that I think about it we did sing that song in elementary school- home, home on the range; where the deer and the antelope play..." Has it been determined where they came from? It's interesting to me they haven't returned to the way they came in to get out. It's one of nature's mysteries I guess! Good shot!
An amazing scene to witness. Gorgeous capture. Unfortunately for you, if you allow me to say so, is that they blend so much with their surroundings that it is hard to distinguish the deer without enlarging the shot.
@sangwann You are right about how they blended in. I would have love to have seen them on a horizon but thought it was interesting to see how they are protected in a way by simply being hard to spot.
