Every January I move the previous year's images from my computer to an external drive. I've been purging photos that I know I'll never do anything with before the transfer and came across this series taken on a kayak trip last March. I ended up spending a chunk of time today processing several and enjoying thinking about that tour.
Beautiful reflections of the trees in this lush swamp! Taffy, do you recommend this place to visit? I’m going to Charleston in March and may have a day to spend there.
@redy4et Yes, I really liked it a lot. It takes about 90 minutes to drive there, so it's a commitment. It's called Audubon Park and there's a guide who takes you out (you're in your own kayak -- Jim and I went together and I was in front so I could take photos). If you have any trouble locating it, let me know and I'll see if I can find out who the guide was. He works at the park and takes folks on walking tours as well. Just found it: Kayak tour in Four Holes Swamp in Frances Beidler Forest with Ricky. And in my notes it was under an hour to get there. I do remember we got lost on the way home when our GPS went 'dark' for a bit.
@lynnz I think the mozzies were too bad and we had bug spray on, but I don't remember them being a serious problem. We were out early and that may have made some of the difference.
Such a fabulous image of lush greens and wonderful reflections! I think you are right and it’s time for me to have a spring clean of my MacBook hard drive!
I admire your discipline with the archiving.
