Looking north from the Madison Street Bridge to what is usually an area with crowded sidewalks and a river of water taxis and pleasure craft. The two older buildings that frame the new "Wolfpoint" area at the north fork of the river are -- on the left -- the back of Union Station; on the right, the Chicago Lyric Opera building.
Love the lighting and tones you have here. Do hope people keep in mind that the virus isn't gone yet. Yes, life does have to go on, but there are hopefully ways to do it safer than we were accustomed to.
@samae@milaniet I think you both are exactly right. As much as I'd dream of being able to wander freely, it makes little sense without a vaccine at best, or at the very least reliable treatments. And the virus is so toxic it will take next to nothing if people aren't careful to cause huge spikes again. So much unnecessary loss of life!
Great cityscape. I find the closed businesses and empty streets depressing but I worry about the need to re-open gradually not being taken seriously by some.
Without the distraction of the usual busy-ness you really get to see all the strong architectural lines and shapes as they reach up into the sky. Great shot!
this has a lovely warmth to it, and the triangle created by the buildings and the bridge makes for a great composition (at a pov that might otherwise look awkward).
