Just in Case

Today was a beautiful day in terms of weather as well as the protest movement. Throughout the city, with thousands marching, we saw nothing put peaceful protests throughout the day.
thank goodness

Glad to hear things are calming - feel sure that most protesters are glad to hear that their message can be heard apart from all the violence which distracted from it so strongly.

Great perspective. Nice to know that the protests can actually be carried out without destroying property. And really, who would loot a Whole Foods?

So pleased to hear that the protests have been peaceful! It makes the message so much stronger!

Thank goodness the destruction and violence has settled down

It's quite eerie seeing all these empty streets where one would normally see large numbers of people. I hope that the protests remain peaceful.

It's so nicely protected it took me a minute to realize it's not suppose to look like that. I've never seen that sidewalk there looking so empty. A sign of our time . . .

Ah, a great shop and a cool image of the quiet streets.

A wonderful calming shot of the quiet sidewalk. Let's hope that peace will soon return to the whole world.

There were stores boarded up in my town because of planned protests where it was rumored out of states were planning trouble. I am not sure what happened last night as it is across town where they were planning the protest. I am waiting to see if they mention it in the news this morning. I am hoping it was peaceful.

A peaceful street photo in not such peaceful times.

so quiet and peaceful now

It has been so well done that initially, I didn't realise what I was looking at. I hope that the protests remain peaceful.

Our Whole Foods boarded up, too, but the nearby protest was peaceful with no incidents which was a good thing. I'm glad yours was peaceful, too.

Too bad so many cities had to be shamefully destroyed before getting to the point of a "peaceful protest"....Great capture of businesses protecting their interests

sigh...such worrisome times...

Oh I only realised these were windows boarded up at the end of reading. I thought it was really stylish architecture, I think they look good! Very neat work! Glad all is peaceful....had a bit of trouble here but hopefully it will pass.

Just hope the protests die down here in the UK, no social distancing, and a lot of hooligans taking advantage of the protests, to cause violence. They have thrown bicycles at the police horses in London, causing one to throw the rider and bolt away terrified. There could have been carnage if it had collided with anyone. Luckily it fled back to the stables. Not so lucky the policewoman who ended up in hospital.

Same in Switzerland : quiet protests to support the BLM movement: first good thing , all wearing masks : second good thing !

So nice to hear this, very disturbing times!

Sad sign of the times all across the country. Glad things were peaceful.

Glad your protests were non violent. They were pretty bad here in London and strictly speaking illegal as you're only supposed to meet a max of 6 people outdoors. Concerned their actions here and in several other UK cities may spark a surge in cases again. Aye me! These are dodgy times, eh? I like the quiet and peacefulness of this image, but long for real life again, as I am sure you do.

So glad peace is taking over
June 8th, 2020
I hope the peaceful protesters outlast the trouble-makers. They have a strong message and shouldn't give up.
June 8th, 2020
So glad to hear...may they be well heard and change happen soon

It was such a weird time to go to our local grocery store and see them boarded up like we lived in a war zone, even in the sleepy area of Galewood we had the same, so glad we have moved on from there, now we just need to make sure we all keep up with social distancing and masking up!
