Today was a beautiful day in terms of weather as well as the protest movement. Throughout the city, with thousands marching, we saw nothing put peaceful protests throughout the day.
Glad to hear things are calming - feel sure that most protesters are glad to hear that their message can be heard apart from all the violence which distracted from it so strongly.
It's so nicely protected it took me a minute to realize it's not suppose to look like that. I've never seen that sidewalk there looking so empty. A sign of our time . . .
There were stores boarded up in my town because of planned protests where it was rumored out of states were planning trouble. I am not sure what happened last night as it is across town where they were planning the protest. I am waiting to see if they mention it in the news this morning. I am hoping it was peaceful.
Too bad so many cities had to be shamefully destroyed before getting to the point of a "peaceful protest"....Great capture of businesses protecting their interests
Oh I only realised these were windows boarded up at the end of reading. I thought it was really stylish architecture, I think they look good! Very neat work! Glad all is peaceful....had a bit of trouble here but hopefully it will pass.
Just hope the protests die down here in the UK, no social distancing, and a lot of hooligans taking advantage of the protests, to cause violence. They have thrown bicycles at the police horses in London, causing one to throw the rider and bolt away terrified. There could have been carnage if it had collided with anyone. Luckily it fled back to the stables. Not so lucky the policewoman who ended up in hospital.
Glad your protests were non violent. They were pretty bad here in London and strictly speaking illegal as you're only supposed to meet a max of 6 people outdoors. Concerned their actions here and in several other UK cities may spark a surge in cases again. Aye me! These are dodgy times, eh? I like the quiet and peacefulness of this image, but long for real life again, as I am sure you do.
It was such a weird time to go to our local grocery store and see them boarded up like we lived in a war zone, even in the sleepy area of Galewood we had the same, so glad we have moved on from there, now we just need to make sure we all keep up with social distancing and masking up!
